A math teacher at North Penn High School in Montgomery County is under arrest, accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her teenage students.
Prosecutors say Heather Zeo, 36, was using Facebook to communicate with the 17-year-old student to set up liaisons both in classrooms and in her minivan in a Montgomeryville parking lot.
The Warrington, Pa. woman is now charged with child endangerment and corruption, and has been suspended from her job.
Montgomery County district attorney Risa Ferman says rumors had been floating around the school about the relationship:
“I do not have the impression from any of the information we have that this was a 'love affair' of any sort -- this was simply teenagers taking what they had available to them.”
In addition to the sexual relationship, Zeo is accused of having suggestive Internet chats with another student.
A check of her web site shows that the married mother of three has recorded educational CDs and performs inspirational music at churches and festivals across the country.
