Peco is getting ready to unveil its new scrolling lights on top of the Peco building, but some folks have already gotten a sneak peek.
Ben Armstrong with Peco says the old lights went dark on January 1st and recently, two panels of the building started displaying random messages as Peco did some testing:
"The new lights do have video capabilities. It's an LED light system, so they provide the ability to run color, new fonts, graphics, video, animation, which will be unveiled on July 4th as part of the Sunoco Welcome America Celebration."
But some people got an early glimpse of the new lights as they were newly installed:
"Earlier this month we did perform some testing for approximately an hour, so parts of the city of Philadelphia and the immediate suburbs were able to see testing that was going on on top of the building. You might see it ahead of July 4th, so keep your eyes open and we hope you enjoy what you see!"
