Irritable bowel syndrome is not a health issue that people want to talk about yet millions of Americans suffer from the condition in silence, afraid to reach out to their doctor for help due to embarrassment. What makes things worse is that many people who may have complained years ago were told that nothing could be done to help them.
Irritable bowel syndrome was once considered a wastebasket diagnosis reserved for mention as a last resort when all other lab tests and studies suggested there was nowhere else to go. But now we know that irritable bowel syndrome is a condition where people have severe abdominal pain, cramps, constipation or diarrhea. There is no other way to politely say it except they can spend an average of three days or more each month in the bathroom, afraid that if they leave the symptoms will return.
There is treatment for irritable bowel syndrome and it is important that you don't suffer in silence. Talk with your doctor
