The Challenge of Bulle Rock

by KYW's Ed Abrams

The best women golfers in the world might be leaving Bulle Rock after this weekend's LPGA championship, but director of golf Rick Rounsaville says others will be there to give it their best shot:

"Well, it certainly has brought out a lot more ladies to play the golf course.  I think Pete Dye sometimes intimidates some women, but it's a very fair, friendly golf course.  And I think a lot of girls want to play a golf course where the ladies play a major."

Now, we know that most ladies who play here aren't going to hit it like those in the LPGA Championship, just like I'm not going to hit it like Tiger Woods.

However, Rounsaville says, if you pick the right set of tees here you can definitely get around:

"Absolutely.  There are not a lot of forced carries on the golf course.  There is not a lot in front of most of the greens.  So if you keep the ball in front of you, you can have a good time out here."

Hit it straight?  There's always a catch, isn't there!

And a reminder to join me on TV for the return of Golfshots, Sunday night at 6:00pm on Comcast Sportsnet.
