'Sinus' Headache Could Be Migraine

by KYW's medical editor Dr. Brian McDonough

Do you suffer from sinus headaches on a regular basis? There are several possible things that are happening.

One is that you are suffering from a chronic sinus infection. Another could be that you are fighting allergies. But there is another possible reason, altogether different. You could be having migraine headaches.

When most of us think of migraines we think of a headache with an aura, a strange sensation perhaps a visual change. This can be followed by a strong headache that often leaves the sufferer looking for a dark quiet room to ride it out.

The reason why I mention migraines is that many of the symptoms like runny nose, tearing, head pain, frequent attacks and a one sided headache all fit. If you suffer from repeated headaches don’t just think sinus.

Get it checked out.
