Nicole Harris spent 8 years working for a corporate recruiting firm. She loved the work but found that with three young kids, she was always pressured.
Wanting to be at school events, having responsibilities for her career, her home and husband, she chose to open the Philadelphia office of 'Mom Corps', a national staffing company that matches professional women with flexible work opportunities.
According to Chicago Tribune writer Barbara Rose, there are 5.6 million stay-at-home mothers with kids under 15, a large pool of untapped talent that Mom Corps can match with challenging opportunities and a schedule that works for their lives.
With the large exodus of baby boomers and the downturn of the economy, employers are anxious to meet their needs with such a rich pool of eager women.
Mom Corps offers online job postings, events and conferences, resume assistance and coaching. “It’s a win-win” says Harris “It’s good for corporations and good for working moms.”
