A growing number of athletes are moving from weekend warrior stats to daily exercise. That can be a good thing because the typical weekend warrior is more prone to acute injuries like muscle pulls and various strains. They also are more likely to be stiff and sore because they don’t necessarily stretch regularly and they have long periods of inactivity followed by quick burst.
Clearly it is important to limit the risks by pacing yourself when you have these long layoffs. Don’t overdo it. But, all is not safe for those who do daily workouts. The problem here can be overuse and chronic wear and tear injuries. You need to make certain you have proper equipment, a safe environment to exercise and realistic expectations.
The most important message is to keep exercising, but be smart about it.
