Ty-tionaha

by KYW's Larry Kane

Nine-year-old Ty-tionaha has a beautiful smile. She loves to play sports, and she says she likes to show up the boys:

"Basketball, football, and wall-ball.  And kick ball. And it's really athletitc. And I like to be athletic."

But she keeps her priorities straight when she plays:

"I just say, 'It's not about winning or losing, it's all about having fun.' "

And this nine-year-old has big dreams for the future:

"I'd like to be a dancer, a singer, and a rock star."

And when Ty-tionaha thinks about being adopted, she doesn't ask for much:

"Fun-loving and kind, and have family night out -- like, go out to dinner, do really fun things with them."

And her social worker, Latoya Nannan, says Ty-tionaha has many qualities that would help her fit into any active family:

"She's quite articulate, well spoken, very active and outgoing. She's passionate about physical activities, especially gym. And she's just a pleasure to be around."

And National Adoption Center spokeswoman Gloria Hochman says it's not fair that a child as sweet as Ty-tionaha doesn't have a family:

"She's only nine years old. A nine-year-old child really needs a family and the steady love that a child needs."
