A convention for commercial real estate owners was being held in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
Lindsay Tiffany of Building Owners and Managers Association International says BOMA is doing its level-best to answer tough questions posed by commercial real estate professionals:
"We're featuring over 40 education sessions this week that are really addressing how to deal with this down economy, how to service your tenants so that you can keep your tenants and bring in new tenants."
BOMA Committee member Perry Schonfeld says help is on the way for owners facing foreclosure:
"There's government assistance loans on the way which is the ground rules have yet to be established. There's stimulus bills that are coming. There's signs of life but it's going to take some time. There have been some companies that cannot, if you will, refinance their debt, cannot if you will, wait, and those will find themselves through some restructuring, foreclosure if you want to call it."
The convention draws about 300 vendors to the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
