A Philadelphia area man -- who was pounding the pavement earlier this year looking for a job -- has developed a web site that might make the process easier for others around the Delaware Valley.
James Oley is president of Philly Job Fest:
"Employers or recruiters can go and post any open positions they have or access the résumé database, and job seekers can go upload their résumé or create a résumé on the web site, and search for and apply to jobs."
The site is free to those looking for a job; businesses who post jobs pay fees.
He's partnered with the “Tweet My Jobs” service, which in turn relays open jobs to the appropriate channels on Twitter, so users can receive instantaneous job alerts on their cell phones.
Oley hopes this will help many people looking for work:
"Having a local job board would be more beneficial. You stand out more."
The site is up and running -- it's PhillyJobFest.com.
