Arrest in Northern Liberties Double Murder

There has been an arrest in the double murder of a man and woman inside an upscale Northern Liberties apartment last Saturday. 

Philadelphia police say 25-year-old Katoya Jones of Northern Liberties has been arrested  in connection with the shooting deaths of  34-year-old Rian Thal and 40-year-old Timothy Gilmore last Saturday inside an apartment building near 2nd and Hancock Streets (see related story).

According to police, Jones was not one of the shooters but played a significant role in the planning of the double slayings inside a hallway of the Piazza at Schmidts Apartments. 

Police are searching for the other suspects.

Police are not commenting on the motive at this time, but earlier in the week said it was robbery (see previous story).
