Last Weekend to Catch the Elephants at the Phila. Zoo

by KYW's Hadas Kuznits

This weekend is your last chance to see the elephants at the Philadelphia Zoo.

The Philadelphia Zoo says goodbye to Bet and Kali.

"I’m very sad, but I think they are going to a very good place"

Chief operating officer Andy Baker says the African elephants are moving to Pittsburgh:

"We had planned for a very exciting elephant, Savannah and our financial capacity just was not there to carry it out at the time."

He says it was a hard decision to make:

"Last week when I sent out the staff notification that we were really reaching the point that they would be moving, my hand sort of sat over the send button. It just felt like a much more difficult act than I thought it would be."

And the kids say the elephants will be missed:

"Dear elephants, I hope you have a safe trip. I have seen you since I was a baby so I will miss you very much. Love Sophia"
