The Independence Day Parade Returns to Historic Philadelphia

by KYW's Hadas Kuznits

A huge Fourth of July parade stepped off in the city's Old City neighborhood.

It wouldn't be the 4th of July without a parade!

"People clapping, standing, screaming, cheering."

"It brings back memories of when I was a little kid!"

"It all started here!"

"I remember my father used to stick me on his shoulders and squeeze me up front and I could see everything."

For the first time in 18 years, Philadelphia's Independence Day Parade took place in Historic Philadelphia:

"Well, I'm from Philly and because this is the nation's birthplace, so that's what makes it so great."

"Oh, it is great! It's fantastic! It's very patriotic and emotion and just a great parade."

And the best part?

“The best part is just being here with my loved ones and my family and just seeing how much everyone else is enjoying themselves, that makes it enjoyable for me."
