Philadelphia foodies are being encouraged to make their reservations now for the annual University Dining Days, coming up July 23rd through the 30th.
Distrito, the latest restaurant by celebrity chef Jose Garces, looks quiet and discreet as it sits on the corner of 40th and Chestnut. That is, until you get inside.
From its special VW taxi dining booth to its modern upscale take on Mexican street food, it makes chef Garces very proud:
"I think it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in the country and I'm not just saying that because it's mine. But only because I've traveled and have eaten a lot of Mexican food in different parts of this country, and I feel that we've hit on a lot of great points here and it's a great addition to the neighborhood."
