Allstate Ranks Phila. Among America's Worst Driving Cities

by KYW's Kim Glovas

Allstate has come out with its' annual list of the best and worst driving cities in America and it finds Philadelphia is among the worst.

According to the study done on Allstate insurance claims, Philadelphians are 57-percent more likely to get into car crashes than drivers in other large cities. That's according to the 5th Annual America's Best Drivers report.

Tony from South Philadelphia is a truck driver and agrees with the report:

"There's no courtesy on the road anymore. Used to be a time when you came to a red light, and you waved the other guy through, come on. Now, it's every man for himself."

But Steve who drives for the US Postal Service, disagrees:

"We're a big city, but I figure the West Coast, out in California, would have the worst 'cause they have so much traffic out there. Look at New York, they have all those tunnels and bridges and stuff."

Michael from Delaware County thinks the results are right on the money:

"It's because Philadelphians don't care. They're rude, go up to south Broad Street one afternoon."

Philadelphia is ranked 188 out of 194 large cities. And it's the 2nd year in a row that Philadelphia is ranked last for safety among the ten largest cities.
