Lower Merion, Pa. police continue to appeal to the public for help as they try to find the car and the driver involved a hit and run crash earlier this week that injured a teenage boy.
Police now believe they are looking for a 2004 or 2005 gold or tan Volvo station wagon. Pictures of that type of car are now posted on the township’s website at www.LowerMerion.org.
The 13-year-old boy was critically injured when he was hit by the car around noon Wednesday on New Gulph Road near Morris Avenue in Bryn Mawr. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered head and body injuries.
He continues to recover at Children’s Hospital. Police say witnesses told them the driver -- believed to be a woman between 30 and 40-years-old -- slowed down momentarily but then fled.
Police say the car should have extensive passenger side and windshield damage.
