Applications are being accepted for grants that will pay for arts jobs in Philadelphia thanks to a batch of economic stimulus money.
The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance is receiving $225,000 in economic stimulus money from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Alliance will award grants to Philadelphia-based non-profit arts organizations who are really feeling the hit - particularly when it comes to personnel.
Peggy Amsterdam is president of the alliance:
"We're opening this to arts organizations in Philadelphia County to apply to reinstate a position that had been eliminated or is to be eliminated."
Applications are due by 5pm on July 24th and must be submitted online at www.philaculture.org.
