Bucks County authorities have charged a Warminster, Pa. couple with child endangerment after they say a baby girl was severely burned on a stove and stuck with a hypodermic needle.
Court papers indicate the 14-month old girl’s mother and her live-in boyfriend failed to get proper care for the child after she stepped on an electric stove.
First assistant DA David Zellis says further investigation showed the girl had also been stuck with a hypodermic needle that had to be surgically removed and her arm was still healing from a fracture. Charges have been filed against Christine Miller and Thomas Kule. Zellis says the two were supposed to properly care for the child:
“That didn’t happen in this case, and therefore there’s a certain amount of outrage on the part of everyone involved in the case as well as the public at-large.”
Zellis says the child is now in the care of Bucks County Children and Youth Services. Miller is free after posting bail, but Kule remains behind bars. They are not allowed to have any contact with the child.
