Reading Terminal Celebrates National Ice Cream Month
|
by KYW's Hadas Kuznits
July is National Ice Cream month and people in Philadelphia were getting their licks in on Saturday.
Reading Terminal Market celebrated it's third annual Philadelphia Ice Cream Festival. Michael Strange with the Bassetts Ice Cream was one of the organizers.
"It just seemed like a fun way to celebrate what is really the best month of all the year to eat ice cream."
But what about the kids that can't have ice cream? Cynthia Carter founder of Kosher Organic Vegan or KOV Foods says there are plenty of options:
"And this if for people who have food allergies because a lot of times you're in it by yourself and everyone's eating and having fun and you're left out if you're lactose intolerant."
There were lots of activities here:
"Like making ice cream necklaces and face painting."
But the best part of the festival of course was the ice cream.
"I love being in this business it makes people smile."
