The 4th annual Lance Armstrong “Livestrong Challenge" attracted several thousand bikers, walkers, and runners in Montgomery County on Sunday.
The Livestrong Challenge was held this year in the Blue Bell and Centre Square sections of Whitpain Township beginning and ending at Montgomery County Community College.
Approximately 6,300 bikers, walkers and runners are taking part as they challenge themselves to a choice of athletic events all designed to raise money for cancer research and education.
One of those participants is former Dallas Cowboy Eddie George who is a graduate of Abington high and Ohio State. George rode in the 100-mile event for the Nissan team.
The Lance Armstrong Foundation says it has raised close to $3.2 million from registrants for Sunday’s event.
