According to the American Kennel Club, the Working Group is a classification of dogs that were initially bred to help man in service of specialized jobs. Due to their intelligence, capability, size and stature, they could aid in such tasks as water rescue, guarding property, pulling sleds, etc. They have been a valuable asset for mankind throughout the years.
These dogs include the Doberman Pinscher, the Rottweiler, the Akita, the Boxer, the Siberian Husky, the Great Dane, the Alaskan Malamute, the Mastiff, the Bull Mastiff, the Samoyed, the Bernese Mountain Dog, and the Saint Bernard among many others.
Don’t let their size fool you. These dogs are extremely bright, devoted and loving. They are eager to learn and equally eager to please.
