There are so many wonderful breeds of cats. Let’s take a look at a breed called the Korat.
The Korat is a small to medium sized shorthaired cat. With the large expressive eyes, the Korat is truly one of a kind. Like all kittens, they are born with blue eyes, gradually changing to an amber/greenish color, then ultimately upon adulthood, anywhere from two to four or even five years old, the eyes finally become a very luminous color of peridot green. Their fur is a single coat, always silver/blue in color, with a lustrous shiny coat. Since they don’t have a thick undercoat, they tend not to shed much. At times, they seem to possess an extraordinary sense of sight, hearing and scent. Reflecting their personality, it seems, the head of the Korat is heart shaped. They are very intelligent cats and respond well to training. They are soft, gentle cats who relish affection.
This is a very old breed that goes back to about the 14th century. Their native Thailand considers them to be a symbol of good luck and good fortune. They are usually given as a pair to a bride and groom on their wedding day or anyone held in high esteem.
