The Neumann College campus, in Aston, Pa., is still basking in the glory of their Division III men's ice hockey national championship earlier this year. And now, some of the players who helped win that title are taking the next step in their hockey careers.
Forward Erik Stoyanovich (top right) has been invited to training camp with the Syracuse Crunch, the AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets:
"All I can do is just leave everything out there and just show them that I'm willing to do everything I can to help out their organization."
Stoyanovich scored 11 goals in 32 games as a senior.
Forward Michael Hedden (top photo and bottom right) is also getting an AHL shot. He's headed to camp with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the minor league affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings:
"It's pretty funny, actually. My roomates Jesse Cole and Eric Stoyanovich for four years at Neumann are big Red Wings fans, and I always rooted against them. It's kind of funny now that I'm actually in that organization."
And he has signed to play with Toledo of the ECHL.
