Like most girls her age, 16-year-old Sandra loves to shop, talk on the phone, and hang out with her friends.
When she grows up, Sandra hopes to be a lawyer. And she says she needs a permanent family to help her reach her goals:
"Just back me up on my decisions and stuff, because being a lawyer is hard and it's a lot of school. I can do stuff if I put my mind to it I can do it, but that's a lot of school, so I just need someone to support me and help me so I can stay in school."
As for what type of family she'd like:
"I want a big family, supportive -- people I can feel comfortable around."
Sandra's social worker, Karen Knodel, says Sandra is softspoken but very goal-oriented:
"I think she really needs a family that's going to be there, kind of being the cheerleader behind her, encouraging her, telling her she can do it. Giving her the positive encouragement."
