The North Wales, Pa. man who police say set up his uncle for a home invasion robbery at his Montgomery Township home earlier this year has admitted in court his role in the man’s murder (see related story).
Angelo Shin, 25, pled guilty to third-degree murder and related charges telling the court that he supplied information about the Chae family’s finances and their daily routine to several men in Philadelphia.
Police say those men were lying in wait as Robert Chae was getting ready to leave his house January 9th. Chae was beaten and duct-taped and suffocated.
Defense attorney David Mischak wouldn’t talk about what role his client might play as the case against the other suspects moves forward:
“Mr. Shin continues to be certainly devastated by all the circumstances here, and he feels that this today was the first step forward in moving ahead with his life and into the future.”
Shin (in photo above) faces a maximum of more than 100 years behind bars. The 18-year-old woman who drove the three men to Chae’s house also pled guilty. At least four other men are headed to trial.
