It is very easy to confuse a sinus headache with a migraine headache and it often takes a physician’s examination and series of questioning to figure it out. But over half of people who suffer from chronic headaches don’t take the time to talk with a physician.
In addition to that, many physicians rapidly make the diagnosis of sinus headache when migraine needs to be a consideration. The most important way to tell the difference is to go over the headaches in detail and one of the best ways to do this is to make a diary.
You can do this at home. Write down when you had a headache, what time of day, what foods did you eat, how long did the headache last and what did you do or not do to make it go away.
It is often a pattern that helps us figure out the kind of headache and how to deal with it.
