Hundreds of students were meeting on Thursday at a summit at Temple University, to share ideas about how to keep their communities healthy.
They're all middle school students, from 15 schools in the Philadelphia school district, acting as nutrition and health leaders, partnering with the Food Trust to help make sure their schools and communities get affordable fresh food.
Thirteen-year-old Harry is a seventh grader at Shawmont School, where he and his fellow healthy leaders have started a walking club:
"We're planning on having five-minute breaks in our classes for teachers to start exercises to keep people moving."
Twelve-year-old Jada began a nutrition group at Cooke-Wissahickon School in the Northeast:
"We're making food and having kids taste them, and then we'll make a survey and see which foods they like the best. And the foods they like best, in the spring, we'll sell it to them."
There's also a program where the students work with their neighborhood corner stores to get them to provide more fresh foods and healthy food.
