Former Temple University basketball star Dionte Christmas was arrested on Thursday night during a traffic stop in North Philadelphia, less than two days after the shooting guard was cut by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Authorities say Christmas was driving a car with heavily tinted windows when he was stopped on Nedro Avenue near Broad Street, in the Fern Rock section of the city.
Authorities say Christmas was driving without license. He was also allegedly in possession of a handgun and is facing violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, which is a felony.
Philadelphia police would not immediately respond to queries about whether the car and/or the gun were owned by another basketball player.
