Faith in Philadelphia: US World Youth Day
|
by KYW’s Nancy Griffin
Young people in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia celebrated World Youth Day in Malvern, PA on Sunday.
Andrea Montillo (photo) of the Office for Youth and Young Adults says National World Youth Day brings Vatican City closer to home:
"World Youth Day is an event that Pope Benedict XVI continues the tradition of Pope John Paul II of bringing young people from across the world together and each year he also celebrates with youth in Rome on Palm Sunday. However, in the United States we celebrate this World Youth Day Sunday in October."
A live Catholic band serenaded youngsters playing Frisbee and going to confession.
"Rob Longo who started this ministry to bring young people to Christ through Eucharistic adoration with praise and worship music."
