Chesco SPCA Seeks Answers in Dog Killings

by KYW's Kim Glovas

The Chester County SPCA is appealing to the public for help in finding the person or people who shot and killed two dogs in Chadds Ford -- and is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to arrest and conviction.

Emma, 1 1/2, a liver and white German Shorthaired Pointer, and Luna, 2, a black pointer mix, were reported missing Sunday morning. Later that afternoon, a resident called the SPCA after she found the bodies of two dogs near Brintons Bridge Road. Rich Britton of the Chester County SPCA says one of their animal protective services officers went to the scene:

"Officer Brooks went and investigated the scene at about 3pm and found two dogs, positioned tail to tail next to the tracks. Upon further investigation, it was noted that it appeared to have gun shot wounds to both of the dogs, in the head."

The SPCA says another witness saw a newer model maroon Ford F-150 with a cap, at the scene with its blinkers on at the time in question. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the SPCA at 610-692-6113.
