Another poll bears more bad news for incumbent Pennsylvania senator Arlen Specter.
On the surface, the news in the Franklin and Marshall College Poll isn’t so bad for incumbent Democrat Arlen Specter. He has a 12-point lead over primary challenger Joe Sestak and a two-point lead over Republican Pat Toomey.
But large numbers of voters are undecided and much more damaging, says poll director Terry Madonna, is that 66-percent of those surveyed say it’s time for a change:
“They’re about evenly divided among Democrats, Republicans and Independents, and he has, in other respects, only 29-percent of the voters who think he’s doing an excellent or good job. Bottom line here, Specter’s an incumbent who’s in a world of trouble.”
The F&M Poll also shows President Obama’s job approval rating in Pennsylvania has fallen from 47-percent in August to just 40-percent.
