A Ridley Park, Pa. man has been ordered held for trial in Delaware County on charges that he assaulted and tried to rob a disabled veteran in a wheelchair over the summer.
Police say 33-year-old Greg Bueydlowski was already behind bars when he was charged in connection with the August incident.
Police say Bueydlowski, of East Chester Pike, jumped out of a car and tried to rob the man in the business district, but the victim fought back and the attacker fled with nothing.
Ridley Park police chief Tom Byrne says the victim is well known and well liked in the community:
"We always see him -- he’s in town all the time. He’s actually a member of our youth aid panel, which is a group of citizen volunteers that help first-time offenders. So he’s a really good guy.”
Police did get some surveillance of the incident and arrested Bueydlowski after he was taken into custody weeks later for another robbery:
"He committed another robbery of a pedestrian at the Wawa in Prospect Park, and when my guys went to arrest him with Prospect Park, one of my guys felt that he looked like the guy in the video.”
Byrne says a female accomplice seen in the video driving the getaway car is still being sought.
