Lots to Decide This Election Day in New Jersey

by KYW's David Madden

Tuesday is Election Day, and in New Jersey voters are selecting a governor, among other officials.

Believe it or not, there are 12 names to choose from for governor. The main players, though, are Democratic incumbent Jon Corzine, Republican former US attorney Chris Christie, and Independent onetime Republican environmental official Chris Daggett.

All 80 seats in the General Assembly are up for grabs, and there are a pair of special elections to fill unexpired state senate terms. One of them is in the 6h District, in Camden and Burlington counties, where former Camden county clerk Jim Beach -- appointed to replace now congressman John Adler -- hopes to be elected over former Magnolia mayor Joe Adolf for the right to finish out that term.

There are also mayoral elections in Camden and Atlantic City, as well as a statewide bond issue for open space preservation.
