Man Sought in Connection with NE Phila. Hit-Run That Hurt 2 Girls

by KYW's Ian Bush

Philadelphia police have named a "person of interest" in their investigation of Tuesday's hit-and-run accident that left twin eight-year-old sisters hurt, one critically.

Officials want to speak with 22-year-old Shawn Timbers (above), of the 1200 block of Alcott Street in the city's Lawncrest section, in connection with the crash.

Police believe they know who was behind the wheel of the grey 2000 Lincoln Town Car that struck the twin girls near their home, at the intersection of East Cheltenham Avenue and Colgate Street.

The girls were taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.  One of them was listed in critical condition; the other is stable.

Officials recovered the vehicle a few blocks from the scene (see related story).  Police say Timbers is a brother of the car's owner.

If you have information, police ask you to call their accident investigations division at 215-685-3180.
