Its been a busy week for Philadelphia, between hosting the World Series and an abrupt mass transit strike. And all the while, the city's managing director has been on vacation. Not to worry, says the mayor.
Hectic times for the Nutter Administration, between last weekend's World Series Games and the sudden SEPTA walk out on Tuesday. Nowhere to be found during this is the mayor's top operations person, managing director Camille Barnett.
She is currently in the midst of a previously planned vacation to New Mexico. Mayor Nutter says that's fine, since Barnett delegates:
"She's a good Managing Director. We've planned for these events. We have a great team of deputy mayors as well, and commissioners. So you put a good plan together and you execute it."
Barnett was in the news last month, as the mayor defended her practice of bringing her dogs to work and asking staff to walk them.
