Lawyers turned into bike mechanics in order to surprise a group of kids from Bridesburg on Friday.
Lawyers from Dechert's antitrust group built five bikes to give away to five 7- and 8-year-olds from the Bridesburg Boys and Girls Club.
Paul Denis is chairman of the group:
“With half our group in Philadelphia and half in Washington, we need to get together once in a while. We thought about team-building exercises, typical corporate sort of thing, (but) we wanted to do something that did some good.”
The kids helped the teams of lawyers build the bikes:
“I'm really good at it.”
And were thrilled with the results:
"I'm going to ride it to the playground.”
And the lawyers learned valuable lessons, too:
“I learned that I made the right decision in going to law school; I'm going to keep my day job.”
