A local author has written a book on her life as a female private investigator.
This is not the life of Charlie's Angels, or the female PI of the novels V-I Warshoski, but Chichi McNair's Detectives Don't Wear Seat Belts tells the true story of a real life private detective:
“I started thinking what could I be if I were just starting over entirely, and I thought why couldn't I be a private detective; I can do research, I can interview people, but it was very tough to get hired.”
McNair has her own agency now in Fishtown -- Green Star Investigators.
By the way, detectives don't wear seat belts because they get tossed out of or jump out of cars, a lot.
