Thanks in large part to Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook, several low-income families in our area will have an extra special Thanksgiving.
Westbrook: "How old are you?"
Girl: "Eight."
Westbrook: "You cooking Thanksgiving dinner?"
Girl: "I don't know."
Westbrook: "Well here you go, just in case you cook."
Brian Westbrook handed out bags filled with turkeys and all the fixings to 50 low-income families:
"I definitely enjoy it. These are the people that need it the most, and I enjoy being here. I enjoy having the opportunity to come service these people and just help out any way I can."
And the people he's helping certainly appreciated his time:
"I think it's great what he's doing for the poor, because we are poor in this neighborhood. And it's really a blessing to receive Thanksgiving before Thanksgiving."
The giveaway was a joint effort between Westbrook's charity, "Brian's Blessings" and Rebuilding Together Philadelphia.
