Volunteers Deliver Turkey Dinners to Isolated Phila. Seniors

by KYW's John McDevitt

Volunteers delivered Thanksgiving meals to nearly 400 isolated senior citizens in Philadelphia County.

Bags contained turkey dinner, a slice of sugar free pie and a plant. The Volunteers then drove the goodie bags to the seniors as part of Little Brother Friends of the Elderly Thanksgiving outreach.

Sandra Bartusis is the groups executive director:

Volunteers are going out into the community to make a visit to spend some time for someone who would otherwise be alone for the holidays.

The Philadelphia chapter of Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is headquartered on North Broad Street Near Wallace and would like to hear from you if you're interested in volunteering for their Christmas outreach program or if you're able to donate a gift such as a blanket or scarf.
