Santa ditched the reindeer and rode the Market-Frankford line into the Gallery at market East on Friday with scores of children following his every move.
The special Santa express brought the jolly man through the turnstiles at Septa's 11th Street station.
"Who came on the train today. Ho ho ho."
Then Santa, his helpers, mummers, musicians, magicians, and face painters led a a parade to kick off the holiday season.
Once at center court, Santa led the countdown to shopping.
We caught up with the Caris family from the Northeast -- six of them ranging from two to 13 -- had their special lists ready:
'"I want an ipod, Element skate board, I would like an X-Box Elite. i want a PS3 and all the games."
