1 Man, 2 Dogs, 2000 Miles to Raise Canine Cancer Awareness

From Austin to Boston: a Texas man and his two dogs are walking 2000 miles to raise money for canine cancer research.
The trio made a visit on Tuesday to the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital.
Veterinarian Dr. Kathy Michel -- a one-year cancer survivor -- welcomed Luke Robinson of Austin, TX and his two Great Pyrenees -- dogs Hudson and Murphy -- to the UPenn School of Veterinary Medicine:
(Michel:) "I want to thank you for what you are doing -- for raising awareness to this whole issue."
(Robinson:) "I heard about UPenn and the wonderful things they are doing in comparative oncology. My people called them, so that I could come out and tour."
The school is known for its work in cancer research on animals and translation research, which benefits all species -- including humans.
Robinson had a dog that died of bone cancer, which prompted the walk.
Robinson, Murphy and Hudson walk 8 to 10 miles a day, staying with host families and camping along the way.
They were set to cross into their 12th state -- New Jersey -- by way of the Ben Franklin Bridge around noon on Wednesday.
You can track them at 2dogs2000miles.org.
