EZ Pass Express Lanes are coming to the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza of the Atlantic City Expressway in NJ.
The South Jersey Transportation Authority has approved the engineering work so construction of the express lanes could begin in about a year. Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri says express lanes are now at the Pleasantville tolls, so it’s time for Egg Harbor to come on board:
“This is the greatest congestion relief project I can think of for the amount of money that we spend this will essentially guarantee people who have EZ Pass that they can go at the speed limit through the roadway without having to stop to pay for tolls. I can’t think of a better way to reduce congestion.”
The authority Tuesday also approved engineering for the widening of the expressway westbound from the Garden State Parkway to Route 73 in Winslow Township (see related story).
