Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the West Philadelphia's Cobbs Creek section early on Tuesday.
Police had few leads early in the probe. Neighbors called the 9-1-1 dispatch center just after 1:30am to report the sound of gunfire.
When officers arrived on the scene in the 700 block of the Cobbs Creek Parkway, they found man wounded outside a day care center.
The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
As of Tuesday morning, detectives had no suspects. The gunman was at large and the motive was not immediately known.
