Vacation season is in high gear and folks traveling overseas can be at risk if they need medicines.
Need to fill a prescription? Run into the local pharmacy. But what happens if you need medicines while overseas or find a place that sells your drugs cheaper? Is it a good idea to stock up? Dr. Albert Wertheimer at Temple University's School of Pharmacy says that would not be a good idea:
"When you go over to buy drugs in Cancun or cross the border into Tijuana and the package looks the same and the pills the same shape and size, it would take an expert to decide."
He says pharmaceuticals in most developed western nations are pretty safe, it's the developing and eastern countries that could cause problems.
