by KYW’s Mike DunnYou have a chance to message Governor Rendell about keeping the city in the debate over the local slot parlors, thanks to a web site set up by two Philadelphia city council members.
This web site --
fightforphilly.com -- will only be of help to those whose views match City Council members Frank DiCicco and Jim Kenney. DiCicco says the site lets you e-mail Governor Rendell with a message that they have written:
“The message is that we believe Philadelphians need to have some say in controlling their destiny. For some reason, that message has not gotten out yet, and we’re hoping that people will not only write to the governor but also write to their state legislators.”
DiCicco’s re-election committee paid for the web site, though his council office promoted its debut.
Rendell wants no municipality to have zoning control, but he also opposes that power being stripped only from Philadelphia.
