Molly Daly

Molly Daly has been a news anchor for KYW Newsradio since April, 1999.  She honed her highly energetic style during a tenure of more than 7½ years at the television shopping channel "QVC."

Daly attended Hallahan High School, LaSalle College, and Temple University, but left in her senior year.

A woman of exceptional vocal talents, Daly has worked delivering singing telegrams and performing in a rock band.  She once worked as a backup singer for rock-and-roll legend Chuck Berry.

A lover of many kinds of music, she has also co-produced a video documentary on Sunset Park, a country music mecca in Southern Chester County.  She  interviewed bluegrass patriarch Bill Monroe, plus Kitty Wells and Johnny Wright,  Marty Stuart,  Riders in the Sky and others.

She first came to KYW to do "voiceover" announcements for the station, then moved into her anchor role two years later.

Television viewers have seen Daly on KYW-3's "Ask the Experts" segments and on television commercials. She has also worked on the Philadelphia-based CBS Television series, "Hack," and way back in 1981 she was an extra in the John Travolta movie "Blow Out."

Daly is proud of her connection to one of Philadelphia's most notable families: her mother and actress Grace Kelly (later the Princess of Monaco) were first cousins.

Molly is an avid birder, amateur naturalist, and fan of British folk-rock pioneers Fairport Convention, singer/songwriter/guitar god Richard Thompson, and English pop band XTC. She also supports spay-neuter programs and the adoption of
shelter animals.
