Nancy Griffin

Nancy Griffin works as a production assistant at KYW Newsradio, and has recently joined the on-air reporting ranks of the station.

In addition to her behind-the-scenes duties of helping news anchors and editors prepare the KYW news broadcasts and business reports, she prepares weekly "Faith in Philadelphia" reports which focus on news of religion.

In those reports, she looks at religious institutions -- both traditional non-traditional.  Her reports have included profiles of comtemporary Christian artists, evangelical wrestlers, the Muslim community's thoughts on the September 11th attacks and the efforts of Jewish synagogues catering to younger members of their congregations.

Griffin holds a master's degree in communication from Howard University in Washington, DC, and a bachelor's degree in Spanish and journalism from Fisk University in Nashville.  She also speaks Japanese and has studied in Japan.

In 1995, she was awarded a graduate fellowship to work at NBC and its Washington television station, WRC-TV.

Her first radio job was as a disk jockey at gospel station WIMG in Washington's Crossing, Pa.  She has also worked for Philadelphia's NPR station, WHYY-FM, writing news stories among her many duties there.

Nancy also works as a Sunday School teacher at Living Faith Christian Center in Cherry Hill, NJ, where she also handles public relations.  She currently lives in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County.
